I’m Healthy, so why do I need health insurance benefits?

Fully underwritten Health care plans do not provide coverage for pre-existing medical conditions. Therefore, the best time to eradicate all your future health concerns is to get a health insurance plan when you are healthy. You do not want to until you do have a health issue (which can occur at any stage of life).
Are my pre-existing medications covered?

Generally, no. Provided the applicant is insurable, the underwriter may offer modified coverage with an
exclusion for the pre-existing condition. Only pre-existing health conditions that are pertinent or material to
the risk are excluded. Plans offering $2,500 per year in drug maximum’s cover existing medications.
My pre- existing conditions are not covered, what are my options?

There are multiple health insurance plans that McIver Insurance provides that will cover your pre- existing conditions. These products provide great benefits but at a reduced drug coverage amount. For example $1,000 to $2,500 in annual prescription drug coverage.
What happens if I lose my group coverage at work?

If you are about to lose your group coverage at work, you can easily apply for an individual plan with Medavie Blue Cross within 30-days of notice. Not only will you retain your health insurance, but your waiting period will also be waived off for dental, hearing aids, and vision care.
